About DLC Co

What is DLC Co?

DLC Co, short for Documentary Letter of Credit Company, helps exporters, beneficiaries, freight forwarders, and trade document teams review letter of credit document packages before bank submission.

What does DLC Co do?

DLC Co checks your letter of credit and supporting document package for likely document problems before presentation. The review focuses on LC terms, invoices, bills of lading or airway bills, insurance certificates, certificates of origin, dates, names, shipment terms, and cross-document consistency.

Is DLC Co a bank, freight forwarder, or law firm?

No. DLC Co is not a bank, freight forwarder, or law firm. DLC Co provides a pre-bank document review service to help teams identify likely issues before submitting documents to the bank.

Who is DLC Co built for?

DLC Co is built for exporters, beneficiaries, freight forwarders, and trade document teams that prepare or coordinate documentary letter of credit packages and want to catch problems before bank presentation.

Pre-bank review process

What is a pre-bank letter of credit review?

A pre-bank letter of credit review checks the LC and draft document package before the documents are sent to the bank. The goal is to catch likely problems early, while your team still has time to correct them.

What documents can DLC Co review?

DLC Co can review the letter of credit, amendments, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading or airway bill, insurance documents, certificates of origin, inspection certificates, and other required supporting documents.

What does DLC Co check before bank submission?

DLC Co checks document names, dates, amounts, shipment terms, ports, consignee and notify-party wording, insurance coverage, certificates, required document counts, LC references, and cross-document consistency against the credit terms.

What does the review report include?

The report shows likely issues, why each issue matters, and practical correction notes your team can act on before bank submission. You can view the sample report section to see the style of output.

How long does a review take?

Standard turnaround is one business day. Rush reviews may be available when timing is tight.

LC document problems, UCP 600, and ISBP

Why do LC documents get rejected?

LC documents often get rejected because small details do not match the credit: party names, shipment dates, consignee wording, invoice values, ports, insurance coverage, certificate wording, document counts, or required clauses. See our guide to common LC document problems.

What are common letter of credit document problems?

Common problems include invoice descriptions that do not match the LC, transport documents with the wrong consignee wording, late shipment dates, short insurance coverage, missing certificates, inconsistent party names, and documents presented outside the allowed period.

What is UCP 600?

UCP 600 is the International Chamber of Commerce framework commonly used for documentary letters of credit. It explains key principles banks use when examining documents, including that banks deal with documents and not goods. Read more in our UCP 600 guide.

What is ISBP?

ISBP stands for International Standard Banking Practice. It gives practical guidance on how documents are commonly examined under documentary letters of credit.

Can DLC Co guarantee bank acceptance?

No. The final acceptance decision remains with the relevant bank. DLC Co helps identify likely document problems and correction opportunities before submission, but it does not guarantee bank acceptance.
